How can I download a clip from CNN or YouTube so that I can add clips together?

I want to paste clips together on the window movie maker, but I don't know how to import political clips from sites as listed above. Thank you much!

Both result in flv videos, and you have to convert them to avi format in order to paste them together in windows movie maker.
