How can I dye most of my hair red, but use my natural hair color (strawberry blonde) as highlights?

Also, I want to use #74 copper shimmer from l'oreal, where is the best place to get that? Would it be better to have a salon to my hair, or my friend's mom, who dyes hair really well? How expensive would it be both ways? Is this even possible? lol

  1. okay well one dont use loreal feria its like super damageing but...

the places ur want highlights take them and seperate in the sections and put them in foils

thats waht you would to add highlights so why not do that to keep them

but it would probally be better to add a lot of low lights to your hair

thats what my hairdresser does for me !

  2. take a rat-tail comb and take pieces of your hair and fold them into some foil, do it until you like the amount and then just color your hair like normal and rinse out the color in the shower when ittime is up (keeping the hair in the foil).  then dry and style like normal.

im not a stylest but this sounds like it will work.  just make sure the foil stays in your hair (if it doesnt try bobby pinning it?)

  3. Lo it is possible, I get it done to my hair to darken my red-ish brown hair. A hair dresser can do low lights with the shade of red you want, which will darken your hair but keep your strawberry blond as highlights. I would personally go to the salon to get my hair done, and the price will vary depending on where you go. It costs me about $50 where I go for wash, cut, and low lights. But if you opt for your friends mom you can buy the dye at the drug store, and she'll probably have a highlighting cap and the dye equipment if she does hair often, so it'll be a lot cheaper
