How can I ease the discomfort of my spacers? I have gel lidocane(sp?) would that work?

if so where do I put it? on the tooth itself or the gum line...I can't even tell where the pain is coming from it's just all....blech.

(I'm so close to picking these things out with a toothpick and I just got them in yesterday!)

Ugh.....i had spacers for a couple of days. The best thing is to tough them out....Im sorry for not being a bigger help.
