Question:

How can I easily explain the difference between DSL sync rate and the DSL transmission/throughput speed?

I have contacted my DSL support many times about my sync rate only being half the value (384kbps) of the package I pay for (768kbps). However, whenever I talk with basic support, they do not seem to understand the differences between sync rate and transmission/throughput speed. Since 384kbps is within their transmission speed tolerances, they say there is no problem. How can I easily explain to tech support and/or the billing department the difference between these?

  1. ISP Tech support will never be able to help you with a problem like that. They are all college kids with giant books/binders that they flip thru lol

Anywho, a low sync rate is always to be expected and the norm.See this http://www.dslreports.com/faq/481
