As the sun was setting and shining through the window, the sunlight was hitting the room at and angle and the pillar of light was FILLED with floating dust, which means the whole room is FILLED with floating dust.

  1. You can't. The majority of dust is actually from YOU. It is made up of very small particles of skin that you shed every minute of every day.

So even if you could completely seal your house from the outside, you will still have dust.

  2. You'll never eliminate dust but, you can decrease the amount several ways. Make sure all your doors and window are airtight/weatherproofed.  Replace your air filter like answer 1 said.  Also, have your ac/heater vents blown clean.  Dust and vacum your place on a regular basis to keep build up down.

  3. Have You Changed Your Furnace Filters???

  4. change filters by an air cleaner

  5. You can't "eliminate" it - a lot of it is coming from you! That's right...your body sheds skin and guess where that goes. :-)

There are lots of products to cut down on dust, primarily through the use of air filters, but it is impossible to eliminate dust unless you want to make your home into a sealed, airless box...and never go inside of it. Because once you go inside...you body contributes to dust. :-)

So air filters, more cleaning, removing "dust catchers" (curtains, knickknacks, anything you'd have to dust often) can help.

  6. Air purifier!  I bought one and I don't have to dust nearly as often as before.  After you see what your filter picks up after just one week,  you will never live without one. Get the filtret brand.  It picks up a lot of dust in the air!

  7. You can't eliminate it  but you can certainly control what you have around you that traps and invites it.

Carpeting, upholstered furniture and draperies are the worst culprits.

Anything that is covered with fabric will  potentially hold both dust and odors.  Pets contribute to the dust level in your home, too.

    I

  8. Honestly if you find out i want to know too.

I battle dust all the time It drives me NUTS.

I live on a busy street and keep windows closed a great deal of the time due to dust.

Some things I do that help

As said keep the furnace and air conditioner filters changed.

Also running a room air filter running

constant cleaning with a darn good vacuum

Only other thing maybe having the ducts work cleaned.

That is the best I can come up with

  9. Welcome to earth.  Seriously.  And guess what else?  You're covered with viruses and bacteria 24/7.

  10. You can't there is dust in the air everywhere even outside although it's generally so fine we can't see it, i know what you mean though about the sun through the window thing. I damp polish all my surfaces at home everyday it only takes 10 minutes as everything is tidy and put away, I need it to be this way as I'm allergic to dust' but i still see a little dust when the sun shines through the window at an angle. It can never be totally dust free.
