How can I end a friendship with a friend that i have had for many years?

I have had this friend who i truly can deal with no longer. She is rude to me, is not trustworthy and lies to me all the time. Now that I have friends who actually treat me well and respect me, i really feel that there is no point in putting up with her. The problem is that we were in a trio with our other best friend and they are still friends with each other. I really like my other friend but i am really tired of the stuff that the mean one does. How can i end this friendship with her without losing my other friend? Please help me i will give ten points to the best answer. :)

i have the same problem and i did the most reasonable thing i could do: i tried to talk to my friend about her rudeness but it backfired and now she is even more rude and we have 4 mutual friends. Maybe the best thing to do is just be nice to her but not overly nice, and make it clear to her that you have moved on.

you need to have a mature talk with your good friend.let her know you no longer wish to be friends with the other but that you still want to have the same friendship you,ve always had with her.

Sit her down and let her know you no longer want to be her friend and let her know why. It would be much better if you changed your phone number, so she doesn't call you constantly. For your other friend, let her know that you still want to be her friend and tell her all the things that your other friend did to you. Tell her you got tired of it and that's why you ended your friendship and it is nothing against her.
