Question:

How can I enjoy a vacation if I am depressed?

I'm climbing Mount Whitney this weekend. I'm very close to my friends. My friends will be hanging together for the next week while I'm far away, making me (to tell the truth) kind of jealous, as if I'm regretting the thought of going on this trip. I leave in 6 hours, it's a long drive there.

Earlier this summer I took them both to Yosemite, we all had a great time, we had fun on the way there, while we were there, and on the way back.

Now I suddenly have to cope with the fact that I'm going to be alone, except for my dad and brother, and I need advice on how to just deal with it/keep my mind off of it.

  1. Hey, don't worry about being away from your friends. Just remember that they are at home doing the same-old same-old and you are out in nature exploring. You will come home with an experience and you'll probably come back and ask them what was up while you were gone and they'll probably just be like "Well, Saturday night we hung out and watched a movie... uhh... ya...". Besides, this is probably a great way to face your 'fear' head on and realize that you have a great relationship with your friends, but that you are also a fun independent person. And I know sometimes family can be annoying (at least I know mine can!), this is probably a great opportunity to hang out with you dad and brother. Even though it might not seem like it now, it's those things you end up remembering when you are older. Make the best of it! Make some retarded memories by joking around with your brother :)

Have a good time! Hope I helped a bit :)
