  1. Dust off the board games and deck of cards.

This might sound silly, but playing games with  friends that you may not have seen for a while will probably be more fun than shouting across a table at a crowded bar.

    And, it's inexpensive !!!

  2. with playing cards, orseeing ur pics album

  3. I think thats enough, and people will enjoy just talking and hanging out. =D

  4. all things you already have ..great..i think cards are great...

just one more..say ask guest to show off their talent.....

    comedy....singing.....instrument.....p... would be nice

but just giving your group the opportunity to HAM it up

    may all they need....have fun!

  5. i know this is out of a $30 price range but maybe one day you shoul invest in a pool table. my friends loves that and you can pick on the two people playing. lol. what you've got already sounds great. wish i was havin a get together like that.

  6. I say scratch the movie, unless it's something really important that's the focal piece of the party (like, you're going to watch "Batman Begins" at your party, then all go out the next  night and watch "The Dark Knight").  The most important thing is for people to interact -- that's what'll keep them there, keep them happy, and make them want to come back.

Music is good, but keep it low so it doesn't overpower conversation (or upset the neighbors, a sure-fire way to kill any get together).  I don't recommend asking friends to provide the entertainment (like a band or whatnot) -- that kicks up the formality of the party and makes your guests feel like they have to sit quietly and listen.  I have a lot of musician friends though, so what I typically do is leave a guitar (or two) in a conspicuous place.  If they feel comfortable, they're bound to pick it up and start playing.  Much more relaxed but you get the same "Hey, look how artsy we are!" factor.  And then people are more likely to feel comfortable talking, singing along, and/or passing the guitar around.

Spend your entire budget on food, for sure, but keep it to simple things people can eat with their hands -- no silverware or dishes necessary.

  7. well beer should do it...

  8. play an instrument...and play truth, dare, kiss or promise...it shud be fun!!

  9. Do any of your friends have talents they'd be willing to lend to your party for free? Pianists? guitarists? Are any of them in a small jazz band or ensemble and they'd be willing to play for an hour or two for free drinks and food?

how about hosting a talent contest during the party! Talk about laughs!

Have your best friends put their heads together and have some back up games to toss out for added laughs and entertainment! Pick up a few disposable cameras and pass them around...the creativity knows no bounds with college students! Who can create the best photo op?!!

Ask a few of your best girlfriends to bring a snacky food with them to cut your budget down. (chips, m&m's cookies, popcorn, etc.)

The best way to entertain your guests is to BE AVAILABLE to them! Don't get carried away serving or in the kitchen. Make things super simple and super easy for YOu and your guests!

    hope this helps.

  10. My goodness - how long do you expect this party to last?   Just watching the movie then, talking about it, talking about the food, plus talking about video games will fill four hours.   From many years ago, I remember playing charades and twenty questions - it's nice to exercise the imagination (and brain) on occasion.  Depending upon the number of people you're expecting, it's interesting to do an in-depth "look" at the characters portrayed in the film you watch ... I think the art of discussion has become, almost, lost within this new world of "entertain me".   I've never had a dinner-party where guests have left the table in under three hours unless the evening included an invitation to play Bridge, Hearts, or Scrabble.  People make their own entertainment (usually) so my advice is, don't tie your guests to a Schedule of Events - relax and pretend you're a guest ... this is the secret to enjoying entertaining.
