How can I export music from my iPod to my computer without downloading another program?

My iTunes library, for whatever reason, keeps deleting itself. This has already happened twice, and I want to be able to take the music off my iPod and put it in my 'My Music' folder, just in case something ever happens to my iPod. Any way I can do this without downloading some outside program off the internet?

  1. Yes, but it requires some file opening and file searching.

First, open 'My Computer' and double click your iPod.

Then, at the top of your window, there should be a button that says 'Search'. Click on search and then type in the keyword "iPod Control" (make sure you are searching 'All Files and Folders' and 'Hidden" files. When the search is done, a folder should come up named iPod Control. Right-click this and make it un-hidden. Now, go back to search and type in "Music". Another file should come up for you to open. Upon opening the "Music" folder, there should be a few folders; highlight and copy these folders. Now go to your "My Music" and paste the folders there. Now, all the music on your iPod should be in your "My Music" folder! (The only downside to this is you won't be able to tell what your music is unless you put those folders onto iTunes).

Hope that helps! (P.S. This apparently doesn't work with the iPod Touch)

  2. Mmm... there are a lot of programs that'll sync your ipod. Try using MediaMonkey or something else. It's kind of strange that your itunes kept deleting itself. Mine was almost deleted, but lucky I found the itunes library file order to get the old library back.

So good luck getting another music software to sync songs on your ipod.

    P.S Apple sucks *** lmao

    Good luck
