Question:

How can I fall asleep quickly??

I'm starting school tomorrow and I really want to be able to fall asleep early enough to get enough rest. Though, during summer I got used to sleeping late and I was wondering if there were any ways that will make me fall asleep quickly so I don't lay in my bed awake for hours.

  1. well Ambien (sleeping pill) is the best.

    exercising heavy thruout the day will help. so will breathing exercises and relaxation music (available online for free)

    otherwise, I find that a few screwdrivers (vodka & oj) help the most


  2. For a healthy person, sleep should come in the night as soon as you go to bed. If you are not getting sleep, there must be some reason. The reason may be you might have taken strong coffee or tea in the evening hours. Taking strong coffee or tea late in the evening will not give you sleep for about 3 to 4 hours.

    There are several other reasons for people not getting sleep. For instance if a person is worried he may not get sleep. One may not get sleep if one has taken excessive and wrong type of food. People with lot of anxiety may not get sleep immediately. People who are inquisitive to hear rumours and such things may not get sleep.

  3. Count the sheep over the fence :P.

    drink hot chocolate...

    read a a book

    get drunk

  4. Exercise.

    Read a book.

    Watch TV.

    Listen to music.

    Play games on the Internet.

    Clean your room and organize for school.

    Eat more carbohydrates. If you're on a restricted diet, then try the above suggestions.

  6. am not being sarcastic but take some sleeping ill they have some that need perscriptions, however they work really well and last all night....good luck

  7. i know i have the same problem, because in the summer i go to bed late and wake up late!

    But what i always do to go to sleep is just close my eyes, think of something and soon enough i fall asleep.

    whenever i close my eyes i just think in my head i'm going to have to fall asleep eventually,

    however it doesn't much matter how late you go to bed the day before school, because i always get excited so i get up earlier, and make sure you set your alarm for the time you want to get up & have your things set out so your all ready.

    But if this advice doesn't work for you try some of these tips to fall asleep....

    relax a couple hours before sleep

    take a warm bath/shower

    give your brain an exersise(count as high as you can for an example)

    tea with honey

  8. i can definatly relate to you..i actually started school today and i set my 'bedtime' for 9:00pm but i didnt end up falling asleep till 2am

    tips:

    make sure all the lights are out and there is no noise or telivison on.

    also make sure the room is well ventalated..when its cool..it makes me fall asleep more quickly..

    and its already 9:18 were im at..so go to bed now!!

  9. wat i did yesterday, because today was my first day. was i just excercised normally and went to bed afterwards because i was exhausted

  10. Warm Hot milk or simply listen to some soft nice music! that works for me! or read a book like for 20 mins! Then all of a sudden you will nod off and have a nice dream about the book make sure its happy and NOT scary!

  11. Take a warm shower to relax you.  Camomile tea is great or maybe some calcium vitamins.  This is also supposed to relax you.  Maybe put on some soft music, etc.

Just as your body got use to going to sleep late,it now has to get use to going to sleep early.It wont take long though.Once you get back to school you will find yourself being tired.But for most students the first day they aren't able to sleep because of excitement.Just take it easy.You'll be okay:).
