I've been trying to avoid it, but this is looking to be my best option. I need to file and I need to do it as cheaply as possible, preferably with the aide of a lawyer.

  1. you can check the bar association in az..they have a referral link   it's:

http://www.azbar.org    I'm not so sure about cheap...filing a bankruptcy will run you anywhere from 800.00 to 1500.00 depending on what chapter you qualify for. Most attorneys will see you on a first free consult, and some even do payments until you file. With the new laws, you don't want to attempt to file by yourself..there's too much paperwork to be processed, and one wrong move and it's dismissed...Check a few in your area out and go with the best and one you feel the most comfortable with. I filed a chapter 7 last year and total cost was 1200.00......I had to use my tax refund to do it..it doesn't make sense, but...that's about the cost that they run. Good Luck!!
