How can I file for my husband to the United States from Canada

Im a US citizen and married with my husband who is a refugee in Canada. We recently got married in March 08 and was trying to find out how can I file for him to come to the United States. What are the process in order to file for my huswband. PLEASE HELP!

since you are married, you'll need to file an I-130 immigrant visa petition for him through USCIS in the US. It will take them some time to process the paperwork, up to a year, and then it goes to the National Visa Center for additional processing before it goes to Canada for the interview. You need to go through the INS and apply for citizenship... well HE does actually.

USCIS is what they call it now rather than INS
