I am six very short months away from my first and only child going to preschool. I need to find a private school that is not a day care in Hendricks co. Indiana.

  1. Many public and private schools offer pre-school, even if they say they are K-6.  You should call and check it out!  Tell them you only want your child there for half days though, because they may assume you want them there the full day.  Peace!

  2. Like many others have said there are many churches that have preschools housed in their churches. Also try co-op preschools, where the parents participate more.

  3. Many private schools have half day preschool - typically 4 hours.  I would suggest calling these schools soon in the Danville, IN area and try to enroll your child as you don't want him/her on a wait list and he/she misses out on a good school.

    Good luck to you!

  4. Try contacting your local churches. I am not religious, but I have discovered that many have preschools attached to them.

  5. Hi,

Have you checked with the local churches?

Don't know about Indiana, but I've lived in NJ when my son was young (25 years ago) and enrolled him in a 3 or 4 day a week, I think 3 hours a day, my memory is going..... preschool that was organized and run by a Presbyterian Church.

We live in NC now, and my Grandson attended a preschool, 3 days a week for 4 hours a day, that was about 9 years ago, but since I'm still in that area I know that the program is still running, also organized and run by a Presbyterian Church.

And NO, we are not Presbyterian.

Check with your local churches.  Personally I found the programs in both states (although years apart) to be good experiences for both my son and grandson.

    Good Luck
