How can I find a free on-line site to check a Doctor's credentials and background

Need professional info on a plastic surgeon practicing in NJ.

Hi!

Do as D and Aspen recommends but I'd also throw in a criminal history check to see if they've been convicted for something. People doing fraud, scammers, bad doctors etc has often been caught in the past and a check will rule that (hopefully) out for you.

You can go to your state's Board of Healing Arts website and look up your Dr. Usually it will tell you if his/her credentials are current and if they have had any disciplinary action against them.
