  1. WAT theres no celebrity home school teachers get your head from your ***

i am home schooling and its your MUM that teaches you !!!

  2. Those types of teachers are called tutors. And they are very pricey. There's likely no database, but now that you know they are called tutors, you should be able to start tracking some down.

  3. You would need to contact a tutoring service.  Expect to pay $35-50 per hour.  (That's why mostly only celebrities use them.) :)

Edit - flying ninja weener, celebrities in the US do often employ full-time tutors or teachers to teach their kids.  It's a pretty common practice among those who make several million per year :)

This board includes people from several English speaking countries, including the US, Canada, UK, and Australia.

  4. If you have enough money you can find one easily.  Advertise for one in the paper, and offer the $30  to $50 an hour they usually charge, they will come out of the woodwork.  If you require them to be certified teachers, expect it to range closer to $50 than $30.

  5. Yellow pages.

  6. You can put an ad in the newspaper or on craigslist. You can hire a qualified teacher, but you are talking about $35 an hour. Craigslist.org has a section under services called lessons and tutoring.

  7. You'd need to employ a tutor or possibly a govie (governess). They're usually provided through an agency. They are *not* cheap though; to employ a govie'll cost you or your parents approximately $30,000 a year whilst a qualified tutor'll set you back in the region of $60,000 per year, not including agency fees etc.

If you're more interested in having a tutor (rather than having all the 'celebrity' c**p),a cheaper way is to contact your local university; often students are willing to offer tutoring.

Yes, there may be a database of tutors (e.g. that held by Australian Tutors Association); however you have not told us where you are in the world so there's no way I can offer you any help to track down contact details for any relevant associations/bodies in your own country (unless, of course, you do live in Oz, *grin*).

@ flying ninja weener: Heh, I'm an aussie home-ed'er too. Don't know whereabouts you are but, up here in the midst of the G.A.F.A. (The 'Great Australian F^&% All') it is still pretty common, despite the drought, for families to employ a governess or tutor to help the kids with their lessons. Our mum is too busy running her own stud business and helping Dad on the property to teach, supervise, mentor and entertain all seven of us 'homeschoolers' without having some help.

(btw, it's 'ar$e'; if you're Australian, you ought to know that an *** is a donkey!)
