How can I find a job in Edmonton from Michigan?

I'm originally from Edmonton, but my family moved to Michigan before I was old enough to get a job. Now I have a bachelor of science in meteorology, and I want to move back to Edmonton, but all the job ads I see say you have to be a current resident of Canada to apply. How can I get a job in Edmonton before I move? I don't have the money to move without a job waiting for me, and the economy is so depressed here that it'd take me years to save enough in my current job.

  1. Are you a Canadian citizen, US citizen, or dual citizen?

If you are a Canadian citizen, I suggest applying anyway they can only refuse your application.  You should also get your school involved. Why pay all that money if they can't help?

  2. Look more online. Like monster.ca or any other major ones. You can try sending in your resume and just explain that you have dual citizenship and see if that's acceptable (it may just be, depending where you are looking there are a lot of available jobs). You may not be able to find a job you want in your field right away, but you can always try just taking something else for the time being and move and keep hunting for your dream job.

  3. try the job bank from  the canadian government.
