Hi guys...I'm an Italian boy and I'm 19 years old.

I'd like to come in London, as soon as possible, in order to work and to improve my English. I'd like to find a job and stay in London for a year...so do you know how could you help me (give me some information)?

How much expensive is to live in a hostel? Or do you think I could afford a little house?

How much will I be able to earn if I succeed in finding a job?

Thanks for all. And I hope to see you soon in England, maybe in London!

  1. Living in London is very expensive as you can imagine as it is the capital of England and the UK. You didn't say what sort of ob you are looking for. I guess there are lots of work available like being a waiter, assistant etc. What sort of job are you looking for?

  2. You will probably find it easy enough to find unskilled work like in a cafe, a bar, a shop, whatever.  Do you have any friends here?  I just ask as usually it's easier to find these types of jobs through contacts.  You could also maybe find data entry or admin positions if you have a good enough typing speed.  With all of these jobs, you would have to wait until you got here to find one.

Your best bet for accommodation would be to find a room in a shared house or flat.  Doing the types of jobs that I mention you could expect to earn only minimum wage or a little more, so up to £6 per hour.  If you stayed in a hostel, it's likely that you'd spend all your earnings on this (and most of them don't like people staying long-term anyway).  You should be able to find a room in a shared house for about £350 per month depending on the area.  Shared places are good because you'll meet people to hang out with.
