I've looked into some programs which will train you, but charge a fair amount of money up front, and I don't know if I trust their "guarantee" to provide a job, or the kind of work/situation they will actually provide. Does anyone know about schools in Sao Paulo that hire Americans to teach English? I have some experience, and a Bachelor's and Master's in Psychology--not a teaching certificate. I _do_ speak almost fluent Portuguese.

  1. Try language school like Associacao Alumni. Or you could always try classes at home. Forget teaching in an international school. They require a certain amount of  years teaching stateside.

  3. Why don´t you come to Goiás State instead?

It offers so many reasons for your changing of destiny. I´m sure you´ll find good schools and/or Universities to teach. Moreover, it has one of the best life quality in the country, natural attractions, good climate, big cities, a great variety of multinational companies, universities, English Schools, Industries, etc... etc... etc...

Another attraction is the fact that the  Federal District, where the Brazil´s Capital lays, is inside Goiás' territory, which can provide you a greater range of jobs.

You can even find lots of brazilian who are eager to pay for private lessons.

I´m not a travelling agent. lol
