How can I find a long lost relative using the internet?

I am trying to find my half sister, and all I know is her first name and that she was born in Florida. I also know her mothers maiden name. I believe the mother remarried to someone, and I am assuming my half sister took that mans last name. I have tried looking on google but the mothers last name is Smith, so there are a million hits. Any suggestions? I do not have the money to go to great lengths with this, but any tips would be greatly appreciated!

  1. Since she is a living person, you are NOT going to find anything on any genealogy site like familysearch.org or ancestry.com.

If all you know is her first name and her mother's maiden name, which happens to be Smith (only the most common last name in the world), you will never find her.  You just don't have enough to go on.  You are going to have to get more information by talking to other people who are likely to know more info about her or her mother first.

  2. try family search .org its free

  3. Find-MyFriends.com!

or type in -find long lost family members for free-
