you can search on sites like finance.yahoo.com and finance.google.com.

Please do not buy stocks! Buy no load mutual funds. Stocks are risky. I find it very difficult to outperform a good professional money manager.

The two most popular and helpful sites are Yahoo Finance

You can search by symbol or by name.  You can also search by industry (sectors)
