How can I find a summer job in Montreal?

I am a teacher so I have this summer off. I really want to do somthing different, but I'm willing to do anyting (almost :) Ideas are retail, tour guide, or something really unusual. I'm open! I'd prefer not to teach but the job has to support living there during the summer (another challenge).

Thank you

  1. Look for www.emploiquebec.net for students jobs and other kind of temporary jobs : retails stores, convenients stores hires people for temporarty, part times, full time or summer times. Usually around minimum wage (7.50$) or a little more. Teaching summer courses should be a lot more convenient and well paid, but I don't know how you can get there, but you can try to call some colleges to ask : like Cégep de Saint-Laurent 514.747.6521 or University Concordia 514.848.2424 for instance.

If you're out of Canada, get info about your obligations to get a permit for working here. http://www.easyexpat.com/montreal_en/job... give some good advices for it and other jobs' ideas.

  2. Please tell me that you're not an English teacher!

    Phew! Thank goodness!

    How to find a job?

How about going down to the Job Center for a change?

Or have you thought about searching through the local newspaper's employment section perhaps?

Maybe even online - why not?

Just a thought though... nothing concrete yet!

    Good luck with that!
