How can I find a teaching job in China?

I am planning to go to teach English in China this year. How can I find a position at a reputable school which can offer a good salary and benefits and treat teachers well?

Depends on your education and experience traveling.  I went through a program called journeyeast.org.  They provided an excellent orientation and offered unlimited support, before during and after.  Avoid the Chinese recruiters, the schools are their customers and there are many unsavory ones out there.  If you do choose a program, make it one that is in your country and always be wary of network esl sites that offer unregulated blanket advertising for esl jobs.  You will have to scrutinize those jobs more carefully.

It depends on where you go in China. Most schools have contracts for western teachers. I live in Nanning and had two teaching jobs within two days of my arrival. If you have a degree, try for university job, they will supply furnished apartment. Grade schools and middle schools no degree needed, but no apartment either. Good luck and remember you can always tutor individuals. going rate is 100rnb per hour

Most of the ESL teachers find their jobs through the agency which provides large information on positions around China. You can send your resume to the agency and tell your requirement to them. They will find a position according to your requirement and your conditions and they won't charge anything from you.
