I have heard bad things about debt consolidators. The gov't has a program to help but I don't know how to find them - any ideas?

  1. I think you might be talking about government grant that you can use to help your debt situation.

I included two resources I found might be useful.

    Good luck!

  2. I don't think govt. have such program. However not all debt consolidators are bad. If you really need some help, I will suggest you a site. Where you can get your Consultation free of Charge!

No credit check required to get started with your free debt consultation.

  3. The Government does not have a program for debt consolidation.  There may government resources that will help with your utility payments, etc. . As far as your consumer debt, such as credit cards, dept. store cards, loans, etc you have to apply for a dept consolidation loan through a loan company or a bank.

Here is a great site that allows you to apply for loans from other consumers.  You should visit it and give it a thought.  But there are no guarantees that you will get a loan. www.prosper.com

  4. Hi,

I used "Credit Solution" to settle my debt and avoid bankruptcy. They managed to reduce my debt up to 58%.It's legitimate.I came across this company on NBC News Special Edition.Check it out here:

  5. Willow22,

I don't know what government program you're thinking of, but there are non-profit (as well as for-profit) organizations that might be able to help.

There's a good article at eHow on steps to take to begin tackling your debt.  Take a look at it:

    http://www.ehow.com/how_2326032_avoid-es...

    How to Stop Escalating Debt

It includes information on companies (both non-profit and for-profit) that can help you with debt consolidation and reduction.

You can also look here for tips on earning some extra cash online:

Lastly, here's an interesting alternative to conventional lending...getting a "social networking" loan from Virgin Money (from the same folks who run Virgin Airlines):

    Hope these help.
