Question:

How can I find how the money $250,000 was spent by our local cancer society?

They were awarded (one person) this amount and I don't want to ask this person directly. It is now a 1 year and a half and I am really curious. I smell a rat.

  1. You can ask the cancer society directly because this is a non-profit organization . . usually they publish this information. You can look online at the local chapter, contact the main organization, or ask to look at the IRS forms to see how the money was spent . . there are many things that you can do. This should be public and if it is not . .than, yes, be suspicious.

  2. It should be public information. Try getting the information using the Freedom of Information Act. If they are a non-for profit, it will be really easy.
