The problem is . About 10 years before my niece merried a man which farther is a Chinese who was born in Shanghai in 1939. His name is Zhang Defu. During the Culture Revolution events Mr. Zhang left China and moved to Kyrgyzia (the former USSR republic). He is living there till today. Mr. Zhang remembers that he has two elder brothers Zhang Difa and Zhang Dizai. He believes that his brothers are still living in Shanghai.

Now when so many years passed Mr. Zhang would like to find his brothers but he doesn't know how to do this correctly.

Could you be so kind as to advise if there any opportunities to find Mr. Zhang's brothers in Shanghai via any internet sites in China?

Sorry for my wobbling English.

Thank you in advance.

Yours truly,

Victor

  1. I don't think you can. Normally you would contact the Chinese Consulate or Embassy to help you. But I'm not sure Mr. Zhang wants them to know where he is. It appears you're not in the US, so any of my contacts at certain universities won't work for you. He may need to search around for an intermediary who has contacts in Shanghai and work through personal channels. The Internet has a far reach, but certain countries are very strict in monitoring the activity and China is certainly one of those countries.
