I don't know why you are not able to work right now, but there are plenty of different places out there that have telecommuting positions available.  However, they are no different then working in a traditional job setting then at home.  The only difference is the environment, your working from your home.  The employers expect the same thing as working in their office, tasks to complete, work to complete and you can just as easily get fired for not completing what is needed.  They have positions available for part time or full time.  I know a place where you can obtain some information on home jobs, check to see if you qualify for a position that one of the companies have.  If you do qualify then apply for the job.  The hiring process is pretty much the same, they pick out the best applicant that they feel with deliver the best performance per say.

I don't know about all these "paid surveys" that others have posted, but I am working for an actual, legitimate company called West at Home.  I do customer service for them, and its actually pretty fun work.  There are other companies that hire at home workers: workingsol, cloud10, and alpine access to name a few.  You can google them to find their websites.  I stay at home too, and with this job am able to support myself with this job.  Good luck on your search!
