I'm quite into planes and airline operations and was wondering if there was a website available where you could find out what rego number aircraft is scheduled to operate my flight in advance?

Please note I already know how to find out the aircraft type performing opps, I was more wanting the registration number of planned aircraft.

Thanks

  1. As the previous person said flightaware.com but I doubt they will tell you the actual aircraft and registration number.  If you have luck in finding the tail number you can go to www.landings.com at the bottom of the page under Search/Ref you can use the databases link to the tail number

  2. I don't think TSA would like you knowing that information too much either.  As far as I know, if you don't have access to a particular airline's computer network, you're going to be limited to the type of aircraft on a site like flightaware.com

  3. The actual machine that is going to carry you could be assigned or reassigned at the last minute.. so getting a hard factual number is not likely. "Aircraft swaps"  also known to the crew as the "bag drag" are no fun... and usually come at the worst time... and all too often...  still... if you are dealing with a nice gate agent... and you don't give them reason to think you are up to something.... you might be able to find out early in the day.. which machine is going to take your  flight... that is recorded in the flight plan and on the dispatch release, and would be in the SABRE computer system if your airline subscribes to it... otherwise it would be in the system they use... but that kind of information would very likely cause the agent to look at you and wonder WHY you wanted it...  when all you have to do is read the number on the fuselage before you get on or after you get off the plane.

  4. your best route is to use flightaware.com which is a flight tracking website

  5. I doubt that you will be able to find out, as that is not the sort of thing that airlines put on public display. There is just no need for anyone outside the airline to know, as it makes no difference whether 9010 or 9110 flies your trip. Airlines often have to reroute their aircraft due to  timing, mechanical problems, etc., so things are not set in concrete far in advance.
