This is in oil. Two priests sawing a log with the saw upside down. Approximately 2´ x 1 1/2´.

Take it to an auction house in a big city - Sotheby's has branches in the USA. Butterfield and Butterfield is an old and reputable firm in San Francisco. Look in the phone book for them, in the yellow pages under "Auctions" or "Art Auctions". You'll probably need to go to a city with a population of at least 500,000; there are not as many art auction houses as there are corner grocery stores. Call them and ask if they do appraisals. They may charge you for their time.
