How can I find out how much money was deducted for state tax in 2004 if I don't have my W-2?

  1. Call your employer, they may have a copy.  I think you can call the Irs to get copies but it takes longer.


  2. Your employer has that info, or go on irs.gov.

  3. You should contact the employer if possible.  Wage transcripts from irs don't contain any state information but do have the name and address of the employer so you can contact them.  As a last resort you can get a copy of the w-2 from social security but they will charge a fee. Hope this helps

  4. if you filed? then get a form 4506T signed and send it to the IRS and it will match what you put on your 1040 line for line
