How can I find out how much power (watts) my 06 Ford Explorer factory sterero has?

It is the stock CD/am/fm radio, no cd changer. I was thinking about buying an aftermarket replacement, at either 17 or 22 watts per channel, but wondered how much of an increase that would be.

Honestly, don't expect too dramatic of a difference.  The stock deck is probably around 10W per channel, give or take.  A "high powered" deck will make a noticeable difference when turned up as far as less distortion, but there's no substitute for a good 4 channel amp.
