Question:

How can I find out if I have been secretly blacklisted?

We used to hear this about suspected Communists in the USA during the 1950s - my mother's neighbour was indeed a blacklisted Hollywood actress who never worked there again.

I have had five jobs now in the last 3 years, and numerous job applications which have all ended in sudden and mysterious terminations. I cannot get anything but generalities and platitudes out of those doing it, and in one job they actually changed my terms and conditions of employment three weeks into the job. There have been no charges of misconduct, and nothing to suggest either that I was not well qualified and competent, and would have settled in well.

I have my suspicions, but how do I actually prove that someone is systematically going round my employers and defaming me?

The Data Protection Act printout tells me nothing.

  1. So you got fired 5 times in 3 years and don't know why? I'd tak to the NLRB: and I'd take a good hard look at myself, not at a blacklist.

  2. perhaps a chat or two with a therapist would be enlightening.

doesn't mean you are crazy, but it might shed some light on why you are having trouble noticing and managing your interactions with others successfully, and if you stick with it, maybe that can be improved.

yes, I'd look inside if I were you...

  3. are you a little paranoid or delusional?

why would anyone go to so much trouble of blacklisting a wannabe actor?

  4. Why would a job application be "suddenly and mysteriously terminated"? More likely you, like thousands of others, just weren't successful.  Or much good at your various jobs. Do you think that you may be considering yourself to be more important and valuable than perhaps you are?  Try taking a good, long look at yourself.

  5. in his defense deadman, he never said what his profession was so where do you get he is a "wannabe actor"? he mentioned his mothers neighbor was an actress.

I often thought the same thing about myself. Last year I must gone of 50 interviews. Not 1 call back. My resume speaks for itself, experience & I'm good at what I do. I always dressed very professional. Smiled. Shook hands. Eye contact. I assumed maybe for every 10 Id get 1 call back but nope. So I began thinking, what is this some kind of conspiracy? LOL I feel for ya but I have no clue to how you would find this out short of one of these people coming clean & telling you. Good luck with your quest.
