I just bought something for my computer and to download it I have to pick one of the three, there's more options but I know I have windows. If I shut down my comp. then I won't be able to download it and then I woul've waisted 50 dollars. My mom said to try right clicking on my desktop and clicking on properties but I have a very new comp. and that didn't wk. I mean, there wasn't even a button that said properties, so how can I find out.

Thnx

  1. Click start, right click on my computer, and look where it shows system and if should says windows xp/vista others...

Windows xp has a green start button.

Windows Vista has a circle start button that dosent say start but a window looking.

Windows 2000 and below has a gray start button.

  2. Well, normally you can tell just by the arrangement and style of the desktop.  Have you messed around with the "My Computer" or "Computer" in the start panel?  You can typically find out everything you want in there.  Device Manager, security info, ect.

  3. there's no such thing as windows hp, so you *definitely* ain't running that.

to find out which version of windows it is you can open any explorer window - my documents, my computer, and go to the 'help' menu then choose 'about'.
