  1. Cockatiel: Male's have grey beaks and greyish feet. They'll also have solid colored fethers on the bottom of their tales unlike females who will have stripes and the males will have more vibrant cheek patches unless a lutino or white face or albino. Male's also have more of a yellow or white face and females have more grey colored heads. Males are usually more talktive, too.

Parakeets: If the cere (the area around the nostrils) is blue the budgie is a male and if the cere is brown (sometimes may be pinkish in color) the budgie is a female

Ducks: This is obvious. Most ducks, the male has more colorization while the female's a brownish color. You can also tell by the voice.

  2. Male cockatiels will also be significantly more vocal than females.

Identifying the male and female birds depends on the species of the bird.  Many birds will have color differences as the cockatiel and others, i.e. the african grey,  have the same colors.

If you have more than one bird, you will be able to tell if the birds choose a mate.  In that case, just watch the birds and see how they behave.

  3. the male is more colorful

  4. For parakeets, the area above the beak will be blue if it is a male, and brownish if it is a female.  Hope this helps.

  5. You can either have a avian vet take blood or you can have it surgically  sexed.thats the only sure way to tell.

  6. It depends on the species.  Some you can tell by looking, while others look the same and would have to be DNA-sexed.

  7. Look on the bottom of the bird....lol
