Hello, I am going to pick your brains some more here. Ha. How, can I find out if my friend really applied for a Visa? I did email the Consulate, but they need a date and passport number to locate his case.

Thank You,

Kaloni

  1. You can't.  The Privacy Act of 1974 applies to visa applicants.  The State Department will release no information to you.

  2. If they are really your friend believe them. If they are not, don't worry about it.

  3. one thing for sure? you cannot pick our brains, but if your friend says he applied for a visa? why not believe him?

we certainly cannot answer for him......

you will not be able to find out.....

    PRIVACY ACT........

the US will not answer you, and? you may not try to pry within this matter,

  4. You won't really get the answer if you contact Immigration or NVC..bec, for security reasons NVC are only allowed to disclosed information to the applicant/petitioner or authorized agent of the applicant only.Passport is not necessary to locate application. The most important thing you need to have to locate a case is the RECEIPT # of the case. You will need this to locate the case either through USCIS or NVC.

Ask your friend if she do have a NOTICE DATE OR PRIORITY DATE OR RECEIPT # OR APPROVAL DATE..If she said yes RECEIPT # always starts with LETTERS WAC/SRC/CAC/LIN then followed by 10 numbers.and if she said yes again then she's telling you the truth..But if your friend mumbled and can't say anything then assumed your friend 100% lying.
