  1. google the Hapsburgs and see if they lost someone.

  2. if she was taken from austria when she was 3...princesses are 3 years old or less?

  3. Dream on she wasn't an Austrian Princess. She was an Austrian pheasant. Her family left Austria to find work in the USA.

  4. The best thing to do would be to hire a professional Genealogist to trace your family tree.

If she was an Austrian Princess, you can forget about getting any money from Austria, Austria is now a Republic and no longer recognizes the Monarchy. However, you might be able to hit up the descendants of the House of Habsburg for a couple of dollars.

By the way, if your Great Great Grandmother was a Princess, you would not carry any royal title as the House of Habsburg is now defunct.

  5. OK, this is not as far fetched as it seems.

Like everyone else way back when, royal families had lots and lots of children, because many kids died young. So to ensure *someone* was around to inherit the throne, they had fourteen or fifteen kids.

If even half of them made it to adulthood, not all of those kids could be king or queen, and many of them couldn't even get a royal position, which would all be reserved for the new king or queen's direct family.

Some married outside their own country in alliances to other royal households, but some didn't, and settled instead for marriage with lesser nobility.

In this way, the original 'royal' line would become downgraded within a few generations, to minor aristocracy or even 'commoner' status.

It's entirely possible your g.g.grandmother had some royal blood, although she may not have actually been a princess. These things tend to get exaggerated over time.

OTOH, she may well have been a princess, as even royalty in some of the smaller european states set out to the 'new world' from time to time.

You can find out through geneology (Y!A has a section where many could tell you how to begin your search).

In the meantime, some key indicators might be the circle you move in ~ even when they emigrated royalty tended to stay fairly 'top drawer' with their associations and acquaintances, and also if you have any memorabilia that might indicate the history.

regardless of whether she was a 'royal' or not, your g.g.grandmother would have had an interesting life, living as she did through a time in history where so many great and major events shaped our world. Her history and that of your family will be fascinating regardless of what you uncover!

You can always be proud to know that people like her helped shape the world we live in today :-)

Good luck and best wishes :-)

  6. in your dreams, lol...

  7. I'm sure if you search her name and say austria or look in wikipedia i found a page were it lists austrians and royalty during this time. If she was royaly  her father would have been Archduke Franz Ferdinand but his children were born before this time. You can also look at your family tree in ancestry.com. good luck. There is also one more url of the royal family, it lists the kings, theirs wives, and children.

  8. if she has rug burns on her back "lower" or knee's she might not be royal ,and check for stretch mark's on her lip's
