  1. Got a ticket did we? Most Officers can testify as to a visual estimation of speed based on experience and use of a radar to verify the estimation. You get pretty good at estimating speed when you have done this for a number of years. Not sure they do actual training. It would be based more on experience I believe.

  2. You can't....because there is no trainig on that.  It is aquired from years of working radar.  That more or less means the officer is rather experienced or confident.

  3. Visual Estimation of speed is acquired by operating a radar over a period of time.

Most officers are able to make a very good estimate of a vehicles velocity which is then confirmed by the radar.

Simply stated - an officer must determine which car is traveling at the rate of speed his radar is indicating - every time he operates the radar unit he is using this skill - and most are very good at it.
