How can I find out if someone is trying to scam me. ?

He says he wants to use yahoo because their buyer protection plan will protect both of use, but his email address is not even yahoo. If I do use yahoo buyer protection plan does yahoo hold the money until the buyer gets and checks out his merchendise. thanks

  1. The Yahoo! Buyer Protection Program applies to Yahoo! affiliated merchants and the merchants' customers.  If the person you are buying something from is not a merchant then it could be a scam.  You may need to check the person out through Yahoo! Shopping's support personnel.

  4. I think you have the answer to your question from the other posts already, but just in case you are still wondering....this is a scam.

  5. Are you responding to an ad from Craigs list? If so and they are insisting on using a third party to protect themselves, you can be best assured that it is a scam.

    Look carefully at the email. It will most likely have words spelled in a European fashion (Theatre as opposed to Theater)

    Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't.

  8. If he says that he is in a different country and will ship the bike to you for free. it is FOR SURE a scam
