How can I find out if there are tornado sirens where we live and work?

We live in area that has had one or two tornadoes in past 50 years. I am just curious about the existance of sirens. How can I find out?

  1. Call the city or your local police and ask.


  2. Call your city hall and ask. I doubt that they have them if you only had two tornadoes in the past 50 years because where I live, we get 1 or 2 a year and we don't have sirens.

  4. Your town office or county office should know

  5. Call your county or city police department..in our county they are the ones who test them and would know where they are located.

  6. The local DES (Disaster and Emergency Services) or other emergency management agency should have a map of this, or at least a rundown of what method is used to notify the public of an impending emergency, which would include a tornado warning.
