How can I find out more about Nissen Trampolines?

I have an older Nissen rectangular trampoline in my backyard...The metal plackards say "Nissen, Cedar Rapids, Iowa". I am told that this is the original trampoline? What is the value of this thing? Does Nissen still make trampolines? It's pretty much getting very rusty in the backyard...

Here is a Nashville school auction for a square Nissen tramp that ended at $464.  They listed it as having "minor damage", so I don't know how that compares to your version that is "rusting in the backyard".  Either way, it looks like you'll probably have to find something else to retire on.

The company is named after the inventor of the trampoline, George Nissen.  It was made by the Griswold-Nissen Trampoline & Tumbling Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  According to Wikipedia, Nissen trampolines are still being made and the 94 year old is still involved in their manufacture.

nissen quit making their trampoline in 1980. im not sure about the value though. thanks for answering my question though. <3

Nissen Trampolines are no longer manufactured but they are still preferred and bought by trampoline enthusiasts. The frames were very heavy duty and although rust may present a cosmetic problem, your trampoline probably will still give a great bounce. Nissen was a professional trampoline and properly rigged with professional bed and springs will give a greatly superior bounce to the round trampolines which are toys compared to a Nissen. You could offer to sell the frame to a local gymnastics school or you may want to buy the necessary parts to refurbish it and enjoy a great professional trampoline in your yard. Nissen no longer makes trampolines or trampoline parts. New genuine NOS Nissen parts are almost impossible to find but Backyard Pro beds and springs fit Nissen trampolines quite well.
