How can I find out my landline number in the UK?

I just moved to a house and the phone line doesn't ring. From the telephone cable, I can clearly see its BT line but when I call BT to ask them the landline number, they won't give it to me. I just want to know, if there is a way I can get the phone number. It is very urgent. I need to order sky TV but they need my BT landline. I can't watch TV at the moment because the signal in the area is very weak.

Try phoning your mobile and getting the number from there.
