How can I find out the IP address of my fax machine?

My fax machine is recieving faxes but I cannon send an email from my fax. It looks like i need to configure it from a computer by typing in the ip in internext explorer but I dont know the address. How can I look it up?

  1. Usually these devices need to be configured locally (on the actual FAX machine) before you can get into the web interface.

    You'll need to find the proper menu buttons on it and find the network settings and configure the IP address there (with proper subnet and gateway), and then you can manage it with your browser.

    It may already be configured in which case when you are in the network settings on the FAX machine you should be able to ascertain the IP address.  You could also probably print its configuration out (usually hold some button while you turn it on) which would have its IP address listed.


  2. Does your fax machine have the capability to connect to the internet and send email?

    anyway try looking in your router DHCP client table list to see if it has been assigned an IP address then try pinging it.

  3. Perform a network scan then you would find out the IP. The IP scanner of LanHelper is great, and it supports SNMP. Get one to try at http://www.hainsoft.com
