My brother-in-law was given a settlement when he was four. He doesn't know what insurance company is supposed to pay him. Do you know of how he can find out?

  1. Claim settlements for minors and their structured payments must be court approved. So I suggest starting at the courthouse for the county he lived in at the time of settlement.

  2. There's no central database, if that's what you're asking.

He got the last one at 25, so he'll need to go back to whatever bank he deposited the check at, and ask them for a copy of the transaction.  I'm sure there will be a small fee.

  3. contact the law firm who handled the case, or the defendants

  4. If he was four, then his parents or guardian received any settlement.  What makes you think a payment is still pending?
