Bayarea is right. Call another body/tow company. They will know a lein service to contact. A lein service will do all the legal mailings, title search and fee calculations for you. After a waiting period, you will have the right to dispose of the vehicle (sell it, junk it or title it in the company name).

Each state will be different, so it is best to go to someone who knows the laws of your state. You can also take the owners to small claims for repair bill, storage and filing fees but subtract the money received on the sale of the vehicle.
