How can I find out when and where a big war protest will take place?

I always read those things in the news about the big peace marches in Washington D.C., and it irks me that whenever I learn of one of those big organized protests, I always learn about them *after* the fact. Can anybody tell me how I can find out about large war protests/peace demonstrations in advance? Thank you!

  1. Check in any alternative weekly newspapers in your area. Even check out the want ads. Believe it or not, there are groups who pay the demontrators. We had a lot of "hired guns" at the Nevada Test Site when we were still exploding nuclear bombs up there. That's one reason you see a lot of the same faces at these things.

  2. Go to the website of any organization made up of people who feel that you are not worth defending.

How does it feel to know what the people who agree with your political opinions do not feel that you and your freedoms are worth protecting?

  4. Try moveon.org and their ilk.  Maybe Air America (assuming they're still on the air) announces them in advance, too.

BTW, those anti-war rallies are remarkably small; the press won't even tell you how many people were there 'cause it's such a small number.  They said things like "thousands" and "a few thousand" for the last rally.  That's incredibly small potatoes in this day and age.  Kind of sad, really.
