I am looking for a nice place to build a house and I think I might have found just the place with Google Earth. I have contacted a Realtor and they found out who owns it, but will not pass on that information to me. So I need to find out for myself and make an offer. Please help me!

  1. You can find out from the county tax assessor, but you will not be given contact data

  2. There are a number of sources.  The county assessors office is one.  A title insurance company (or abstract company in some states) will also provide this information.  Sometimes for a fee.  Some web-based companies also have this information as well, such as dataquick.com.  Again, for a fee usually.

If I was you, I would consult another real estate broker.  If this one won't present an offer, you should consult another professioal.

  3. The tax man knows who owns the land.

It could be locked in a trust. You won't know until you spend the effort to find out. And if you are serious about making an offer, why not ask that realtor to present it for you? It's probably a friend of his.

  4. EASY EASY EASY- Call the county you live in, it free public info, then tell realtor they are an idiot

  5. county tax collection office
