How can I find out why my passport is taking so long to get here?

They are backed up over 10 weeks last I checked - everyone needs one to come back over the border into the US - legally that is.

Passports are taking a lot longer ever since you had to get one to go to Canada.

How long is it taking?

When I got mine, I had a choice...pay the normal rate and get it in a few months.....pay a bunch more, and get it in 2 weeks.

for right now it is the busiest time of year ,

it can take from 10 weeks on ...

this is what the passport agency is saying :

Passport Processing Times Have Increased Due to High Volume,Updated Processing Times

February-April is the busiest time of year for Passport Services, with Americans planning spring break and summer trips.  The best advice is, “Apply Early!”   Or even “now’” if you might be checking out deals on airfare or hotels outside the U.S.
