I just need some tips for fund raising

you can ask coworkers, family, friends, if youre bold enough you can walk into stores and stuff, but any money you collect will be more than they had before. good luck and congratulations on doing a wonderful thing =]

write letters to businesses, get your local charity clubs to contribute (kiwanis or key club for example)... just make sure you give plenty of notice.

Family, friends, co-workers, local business, churches, Radio stations, TV stations....call them or better go by and ask in person.  Remind everyone it's a tax deduction

You alreday know alot of sponsors - they are your personal network! Create your own online sponsorship form on an online fundrasing website such as Justgiving in the UK or mycause in Australia. Once you create your page email the link to your friends and family and they can donate online and be immediately receipted!
