  1. I, too, am searching for similar information.  My husband's grandmother, Rosalie Emma Messier aka Rose Anna Machia/Mashey is said to have been sent to this  place.  Family lore has it that place was for so-called wayward girls, which the family thinks means a home for either pregnant teen girls or for girls that someone thought were somehow disruptive or incorrigible.  Do you have any more information regarding this place?

  2. Can you verify.. is this an orphanage? sounds like one.  By the way... SOME orphanages will have records, or at least historical (broad) information. I know of one local one in Dallas that has reunions.

If that is true..and children were there during 1920, you may be able to find them on the 1920 census.

Suggestion.. come back and edit your question.. if you are looking for family members in Hartford at the time, provide names and approx ages. Someone will probably pick up and do a search for you on ancestry.
