How can I find recycling centers/services?

I've been looking for recycling centers or services for my apartment complex for like a year now, but I can't find anything within a 50 mile radius! I've looked on many different sites and asked many different people. This is a major metropolitan area, I have a hard time believing it's THAT anti-recycling. Please help me find something. If it helps, my town is Brandon, FL.

  1. If you don't find one thats close to you, and are MOTIVATED to get a center in your area, start attending town meetings, sending letters to lawmakers, passing around petitions, and getting active in your community.  All it takes it one person to motivate a group of people and make a major change.

    Good luck!

Try this website for info about recycling & to locate facilities in your area.  Then phone them to double-check the info from the website... sometimes it's not very up to date.  If you don't see any local facilities listed, call one in a neighboring town & see if they know of any facilities in your area (maybe they're just not listed...).  I hope this helps.
