  1. Do an online google search?

    Or look in an atlas.

  2. At solar noon look at your time piece, set to Greenwich time. Divide the time into 360 degrees.

You can do this with any star for which there is an entry in the star almanac.

Measure the altitude of the sun at solar noon. Consult an almanac to determine the position of the sun relative to the equator and corret your measurement.

  3. Maps often give the longitude and latitude. GoogleEarth also gives it.

  4. First Choice:

    1. open google maps.

    2. Type in the city you want latitude and longitude for.

    3. Right click somewhere in the city.

    4. Select "Directions to here" or "Directions from here"

    5. See the coordinates in the "Get Directions" box top left of the map.
